A Baby Rewilding Project: The Knee High Woodland
The Sands of Luce is a busy family holiday park who's owners are taking steps to reduce it's emissions and have a positive impact on their land. Investments in solar pv for their games and work rooms, and solar thermal for their laundry has made the most of their busy periods in the sunshine, producing green electricity which lowers both cost and emissions. The team have recently taken a step further, past reducing their impact and towards environmental improvement with the creation of meadow area and planting a now knee-high woodland. This baby re-wilding project focuses on creating a rich and diverse habitat using native trees and shrubs in the hope of encouraging wild populations. Long-term, the Sands of Luce's ecosystem restoration will create a sustainable carbon sink, transforming the grasslands they inherited into their natural state and leaving a legacy of climate action in Sandshead.
